Viaken BMW Interface

Hi BMW-Friends,

 

unfortunaly i don´t speak Polish, but i have a question where you BMW-Fans

from Poland could help me better, because thsi interface is rather unusual

here :)

I have bought this interface from a EBay-Reseller, but it does not work

at all, no matter, what i try. I have a 1990 E34 M50B25 without VANOS.

No chance with Carsoft 6.5 (for which it was made), INPA, Tool32,

even not DIS, real COM-Port, USB-Adaptor, setting to STD:ADS,

STD:OBD and so on, nothign works correctly. The only thing

where i can connect with Carsoft is the DME, ZKE and the Dashboard

and the most important one, the airbag module. It connects

there, but the failure in the error memory of the airbag

module seems to be wrong. It always complains about the

"front right crash sensor, insulation error", but

the cable is ok. I also connected another airbag module and

the error is the same. I also disconnected both sensors and

the error is always the same. It does not recognize the

second missing sensor. Also the DME Data is wrong.

 

 

The green light of the interface is always on and the red one

flashes while it tries to connect.

 

I have attached a photo of the interface and my question to

you is, if someone has the same interface and could tell me

if my interface is complete, since i think there is a IC

missing (maybe a production error) and if someone has

already succeed to connect to an E34 with ADS interface.

I do not believe that this is a OBD-only interface, since

they say it covers all BMW´s starting from 1988 up to 200x.

The only thing i can believe is only that a IC is missing or

this interface should have a switch for setting this to

OBD or ADS. The Label on the bacside says "vbcs30".

Its bould around a MAX232, an AT89C2051 and other parts.

I suspect there is a 74HC00 missing at the empty connector.

 

I´ve already mailed Viaken if they could help me, but i

get no answer. What makes me wonder is how this

interace know to switch between ADS and OBD,

since ADS was only used until a specific Date and after that

OBD was used in BMWs....
