I have had the same issue on my 2010 E91 318; 4AF5, 4B05, 4AE5, 4AD5. Actually it became worse over the course of a year to a point that the engine went into emergency mode on the German highway. I have succesfully updated myself (after some internet forum digging) the DDE module using an OBD adapter and winpkf. Now all problems have disappeared. If you need help, let me know.
